Continuing on from the last few blog posts is Rule #7 in how werewolves must conform. This one was first uttered by my friend James - I cannot take credit for it.
Rule #7: Once in werewolf form, transformation back into human form can only occur once the werewolf has killed and eaten.
Persons newly afflicted with lycanthropy have little say in how their evolution as a lycanthrope occurs. They cannot control any aspect of their transformation into a monster or human form. Their werewolf self, in the early going, is built to hunt and kill and is largely involuntary.
The veteran lycanthrope learns to control when they transform, and know that hunting and killing is part of the game. In the early years they can hunt and devour any small animal in order to allow them to change back into human form. As the years go by, however, only one type of prey will satisfy this awful requirement: they must hunt and kill human prey.
The ramifications of killing and eating people has a palpable effect on the lycanthrope as time goes by; which leads us to our next rule...(to be continued).
